Our favorite car comparison site is the autos section on the Microsoft Network. When you visit autos.msn.com, after you select a vehicle to begin, look for the comparison links. The site will line up competing models side by side, and do all the calculations for you.
Our favorite overall car research site remains Edmunds.com. Can't really say why, except it is packed -- and that we consistently link to their old "Best Bets" lists as a way to show our readers which top-rated models may have fallen into their price range.
Check out their list from 2004, for instance, and see how many good cars are now quite affordable.
Start your loan research with a copy of your credit report.
Check www.myfico.com to see average rates based on your credit score.
If you need credit repair advice, you can find some from the Federal Trade Commission here.

Cars.com runs a very under-rated site considering it's reputation for quality, and their page on Buying A New Car From A Dealer rocks. Their financing tips section is good, too.
This dealer advice section on about.com is short, sweet and to the point.
